Together, we can create a more connected Scotland.
The Scottish ACEs Action Community brings people together to listen, learn, share and take action.
We believe that every person’s story matters. We recognise that adversity, trauma, inequality and the experiences we have throughout our lives can shape our relationships, health, learning, wellbeing and opportunities.
We believe that listening to lived experience, building relationships and working together can help create communities and systems where people feel safer, heard, valued and connected.
Our pledge
We will listen to people, communities and lived experience with curiosity, respect and without judgement. We recognise that people’s experiences and voices are an important part of understanding what needs to change.
We will seek to build relationships and create spaces where people feel welcomed, heard and valued.
We will continue to learn about adversity, trauma, ACEs, inequality and the wider experiences that shape people’s lives.
We recognise that this is a journey and will remain open to learning, reflection, feedback, evidence and changing our practice as our understanding grows.
We will seek opportunities to connect and work across communities, organisations and sectors, recognising that no one person or organisation has all the answers.
We will take whatever small or significant actions are within our influence to help create positive change.
